My name is Daniel Mark. I was born and raised in Minnesota, but I have traveled the world and had a life full of exciting adventures. I studied Russian and History at Bowdoin College in Maine (B.A. 2009). After graduation, I moved to Moscow, Russia where I worked as a translator and English teacher until 2013. In Moscow I met my future wife (she is Russian) and we now have two wonderful children. Our adventures have continued since returning to the United States. I completed an MA in History at Indiana University (2015), and I later worked in Washington DC and for the Los Angeles City government.
Teaching is what I love and find most fulfilling. I recently completed a Teacher Credential program at Vanguard University (2018), and I am so excited to apply my training and experience in the service of a new generation of scholars. Seashore Academy offers a great academic program and I am honored to be a part of it.
When I’m not busy working or chasing our toddlers around the park, I try to find time for hobbies. I like to read, draw, and play sports. I have played ice hockey for most of my life—including in Russia. I also love hiking and surfing, even though I’m not very good at it!

I studied abroad in London and Germany and was able to teach in different classes and grade levels overseas. I met my husband in college and we got married in July of 2018. We have a son named Jaxon Stone and it is by far the best and proudest thing I have done so far. I love to go to the beach, make crafts, hang out with my family and friends in my free time.
I have been a preschool teacher for most of my teaching career and I am excited to be apart of the Seashore Academy Family.
